2024 Opportunities
In collaboration with the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of Ministry of Education, the Inner Mongolia Normal University (INMU) is leading the 2024 Chinese Bridge Foreign Student Groups Program in China.
Through site visits, exchanges, and cultural experiences, students will experience the development and changes in China, enrich their international vision, enhance their in-depth understanding of Chinese language and culture, and strengthen language education exchange between China and foreign countries.
Programme Details
This programme will run for two weeks, from 10 July 2024 to 23 July 2024.
In Week One, students will learn about China (the country and their language), and visit:
- Ruyi River Scenic Area
- Sazhao Cultural Square
- Saisai Old Street.
In Week Two, students will continue to learn about China (the country and their language), and experience many more cultural site visits to:
- Great Wild Goose Pagoda &
- Lesser Wild Goose Pagoda
- Terra Cotta Warriors
- Muslim Quarter
- Fortifications of Xi'an
- Yongqingfang
- Huashan Mountain
- Xi'an Museum.
Cost
This is a partially-funded opportunity.
The host institution will cover food, accommodation, transportation, and insurance in China.
Students are responsible for their flights, and any other costs incurred while on the programme.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this programme, students must:
- Be between the ages of 14 (born before 1 June 2010) and 30 (born after 1 June 1994)
- Have an HSK or YCT certificate
- Have no criminal record
- Be in good health & suitable for international travel
- Have not participated in this programme within the last 3 years.

2024 "Discover Jiangsu" International Summer School
Throughout this programme, students can learn about the relevant theories of traditional Chinese medicine and veterinary medicine; the basic structure of the body, Zang (organs), Qi (life force), Xue (blood), Jing-luo (meridian channels), and acupuncture treatment methods.

Course Details
This programme takes Chinese veterinary acupuncture as the starting point, focusing on the disease treatment of companion animals such as dogs and cats, combined with the production and breeding of large animals such as horses, also with clinical treatment, especially the practical teaching of acupuncture treatment. During the period of the course, study, discussion and final assessment report will be done through small-group learning.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand the basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine such as yin-yang and Wu-xing (five elements), Zang-fu organ theory and Jing-luo (meridian channels), acupuncture and moxibustion.
- Understand the role of Chinese veterinary medicine in treating companion animals.
- Become familiar with the skills of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine to control animal diseases.
- Analyze clinical practical problems with the concept of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine.
- Understand the traditional culture of Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine.
- Improve your perception of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine.
Training Team
The training professors are all from the Institute of Chinese Veterinary Medicine. The institute is a unit under the College of Veterinary Medicine. it advocates using integrated Chinese and Western veterinary medical methods to prevent and treat livestock and poultry diseases, also actively applies modern scientific methods to summarise the heritage of traditional Chinese and veterinary medicine.
The institute presided over the establishment of the Chinese Herbology programme and the Chinese veterinary medicine scientific group, also established the international veterinary acupuncture class / traditional Chinese Medicine class, the integrated Chinese and Western veterinary service department and the pet clinic, and regularly held international veterinary acupuncture courses. It was one of the earliest institutes in China to provide international veterinary acupuncture courses.
Programme Fee
We have ONE full scholarship available for a University of Waikato student. The scholarship covers the Programme Fee in full and will provide an international travel allowance of up to $1000 (economy class). If the international travel expenses are less than $1000, the reimbursement will be based on the actual amount as shown on the invoice.
The programme fee would otherwise be $2000 (USD). This includes tuition, accommodation, food, insurance, local transportation in Nanjing, and field trips.
